Why ADVENTURE BIKING?

Lost in the adventure.

Whenever we talk about adventure biking in India, the first question is thrown at us is " Why go into the dirt and get yourself dirty". Now, what if we ask them what fun in 22 people running after a ball for 1 hour and get dirty. I think this would be the best way to explain that Adventure biking is not just about going in mud or going over rocks, It's more of the thrill of taking your bike to places where the common rider would not dare to go. It is the happiness you get when you cross an obstacle while anyone else would have turned their bike and went back. It's the proud feeling when you cross a muddy road where everyone's wheels are stuck but you manage to carry your bike across the sludge with your riding skills.

If you think you can push the bike, even walking here is difficult.

And well, what if there's a water crossing where the water comes up to your hips, while rest are intimidated adventure bikers take it as a new task to complete... and the joy of water splashing around while your bike is wriggling and struggling and after few seconds you are on the other end of the water crossing, The bike has carried you across the stream like a magic carpet, all it needed was your love for adventure as its fuel. That is the beauty of adventure riding which you must try once a lifetime. Life is more about travelling on less threaded bumpy roads rather than restricting your life on the office to the home tar road and getting stuck in traffic.

Saltwater and sand.

Going on an adventure ride takes more courage and young at heart spirit, along with thirst to explore and improve more than the machine you have. And there are bikes designed especially for adventure rides which are called as Adventure bikes or adventure tourers. The Adventure tourers have powerful and torquey engines to help the riders get over any obstacles and climb steep hills with luggage. They have upright seats for comfortable touring, long-travel suspension to take the ruts and bumps once the road ends.

Rocks ahead. So what?

These bikes are designed to take a certain amount of beating. The best thing which I personally love about adventure bikes is "Every pothole and speed bump is an adventure for those bike owners, and facing them is testing their bike and themselves, unlike a non-adventure type of person complaining and getting angry. That's what makes adventure bikers find joy in frustrating situations. Also if there is a tar road the touring capacity of adventure tourer bikes comes into play and they won't let you down on road and help you munch miles with ease comfortably, thanks to their design and powerful engines. The Adventure tourers can hit up to 200 kmph+ on road.

Apart from all the beautiful places which others cannot even dream of which adventure bikers can ride to using their bikes and all the adrenaline rush and thrill and joy we get adventure biking also has a few more benefits. Like

Yesss! Himalayan and Himalayas.

1. It improves your riding skills: What you learn riding 500 km of tarmac you learn it in 5 km of offroad. Tarmac does not throw challenges at us every 50 metres of the road unlike offroad. On tarmac the bike keeps rolling in the smooth road with nothing much to learn unless we are in a closed environment track where we are riding knee down at the speed of 200 mph pushing limits. Majority of us do not have access to racing tracks and breaking speed limit on the public road is an offence. So the best way to learn about controlling your bike when the situation is not in your favour is offroading.

2. It keeps you fit: Whenever someone says me what workout to do like running, cycling and swimming or gym I end up saying to go adventure riding in your bike which results in a surprising reaction by others. How does just riding a bike make us fit? Well, adventure biking is totally different. Here the whole body position is different than the normal sit and rides as done is street bikes. In offroad, the body needs to be agile and constantly in the movement to keep the balance. The bike needs to be constantly controlled and tamed using our energy whenever the bike loses traction and body weight must be shifted across the bike to keep the bike rolling instead of losing control and falling which is an intense process. Wait a minute, this whole thing looks suspicious on how riding a bike can make you fit? well just take your bike for an adventure and after 5 minutes of intense offroad if you are not sweating and feeling exhausted you can ping us. The best part you will love the whole workout and will be eager to repeat the trail once again.

We are Red and we are powerful and no terrain can stop us!

3. It creates a relationship between you and your bike: We never know how a machine behaves until its working in unfavourable condition. Since tarmac has a lot of traction we have a lot of myths about our bike and we think riding is all about forcing the bike to move. We get away with our mistakes since the traction is stronger than our mistakes. But remember your bike has around 20 horsepower (around 100 horsepower if you have an Africa twin or a tiger) and you have less than 1 horsepower because you are a human. So you cannot force your bike since it has 50 times more power than you. In offroad if you try to force the bike do something or go against, the bike will lose control and throw you off the seat, only to make you understand that the relation between you and bike is not of force but of understanding each other. And taming it will require maintaining a relationship with your bike where you understand how it behaves. If you are wondering how offroading will help you while riding on the road when you are faced with a sudden issue like a pothole or sudden sand on the road you will not end up doing something stupid like panic breaking or forcing the bike to turn and end up losing the control and falling. Since you already know how your machine behaves in mud and bumps during your adventure rides you will have better control over your bike and will handle the situation better.

Hellooo! Surprise.

4. It will help you tour better than the average tourist: While average bike tourists have to stop where the road ends and join the crowd who have come by their cars and public transport and be a part of the crowd, Adventure bikers can continue riding even after the road ends and explore places which are untouched by the average tourist. Like while others a struggling to climb uphill you can ride your bike to the top. Or if a road is blocked by a fallen log an adventure biker will just jump his bike over it whereas the rest will start walking parking their rides.

Why just ride on the golden (Quadrilateral) road when you can ride on golden fields

5. The JOY and THRILL which cannot be explained: Just like it's not possible to feel the beauty of Tajmahal or Ladakh by reading or listening and can be only felt by experiencing it, similarly the thrill and fun of adventure riding cannot be described. It can be only felt. And trust me it's so good that it will make you addicted but only having a good impact on you making you stronger, more fit, wiser and will improve your riding skills a lot. If you do not trust us, " Well 8 times world champion Valentino Rossi still rides offroad so that he can improve his riding skill on tarmac EVEN AFTER HE BROKE HIS LEG IN OFFROAD PRACTISE"
